News: API Discovery

Thousands of developers are discovering the Blockscout Pro API. We call it Pro to signify Production-ready, Professional-grade data. Features include higher rate limits than our competitors, real-time usage dashboards, and up to 50 API keys per account.

The Pro API also includes a generous free tier on most chains. This gives you 5 requests per second and 100K credits per day, and starts as soon as you generate a key at https://dev.blockscout.com/.

Builders continue to discover and use the service, and growth really took off in September. New signups per day are now at their highest level of the year.

Chain access:

  • Paid plan required: Base, Polygon, and zkSync
  • No paid plan required: Robinhood Chain, Arc, and 100+ more.
Pro API usage by builders across different chain ecosystems

One of those builders is Keeper, the wallet formerly known as Tonkeeper. Keeper uses the Pro API for blockchain data across Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base, and links out to the Blockscout explorer for transaction details. Tonkeeper spent years as the leading self-custody wallet on TON before the rebrand earlier this year.

The Keeper article is the first of a series of blog posts where we'll highlight different projects and developers who are using the Pro API. We'll be publishing additional case studies along with technical details that show how the developer community is leveraging the Blockscout API in unusual, novel and powerful ways across hundreds of chains.

If you are a builder using our Pro API, we'd love to hear more! Drop us a note and let us know how you're using it.

🗞️ Blockscout News in Brief

🚀 v12 rolling out, testnets first

Blockscout v12.0.0 is rolling out to hosted instances, and testnets are first. Standout additions and optimizations:

  • ERC-8056 token type support
  • Sourcify integration migrated from API v1 to v2
  • Log input decoding in ABI-like format for transactions
  • New api/v2/tokens/batch endpoint
  • CSV export of token transfers from a token page

v12 also includes breaking changes for API integrators, including a change to how items_count works in pagination and the removal of all /api/v2/mud/* endpoints. Look for a deeper dive into the update in an upcoming blog post.
