Rewarding Blockchain Activity

A day in the life of a blockchain power user... coffee, blockchain, brush teeth, blockchain, shower, blockchain, lunch, energy drink, blockchain, dinner, blockchain, bed (not necessarily in this order).

For many of us blockchain is already a vital daily routine. Maybe it's checking charts, swapping tokens, trading, farming and airdrop hunting, buying & selling NFTs, playing games, bridging, lending and borrowing, donating, participating in Discord groups, building apps and agents, reviewing transactions on Blockscout 🙂 the list goes on and on.
Blockchain activity is our main activity, and regular, useful activity takes resources, energy and time. Wouldn't it be nice if more of our everyday onchain pursuits (not just those related to farming) were also incentivized? It is a lot of work and time, after all!
In this newsletter we take a look at 2 new Blockscout-aligned programs creating value through everyday participation in onchain social and exploration activities.
Today's edition is brought to you by Soneium - a public Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs to invoke emotion and empower creativity.

Circles
Reimagining Money
Circles is a decentralised currency protocol that lets anyone issue their own money. Instead of relying on banks or institutions, Circles allows people to create and exchange value within social networks built on mutual trust.
Here’s how it works:
- Each user generates 1 CRC (Circles token) per hour, which acts as their personal currency.
- You decide whose currency to accept by choosing who you trust. These trust connections let you spend and receive CRC with friends, collaborators, or extended networks.
- You can trade CRCs with people you know or with those connected through mutual trust, making the system flexible and community-driven.
- Groups can be created for communities to easier coordinate shared spending or local economies.
- A small daily burn applies to all balances, totalling 7% annually. This encourages active use of CRCs.
Circles is an alternative model for money, where value flows through relationships instead of institutions. Circles weaves your social bonds into money, turning local cooperation into “friendly money.” It’s not imposed from above. It grows organically from within your community.
At Blockscout we are collaborating with Circles to launch an early Blockscout group for members of our community. This will create opportunities for local currency exchange and organic community growth. Through regular social activities, Blockscout group members will enjoy new benefits and incentives. Stay tuned for more details, in the meantime Join the Circles waitlist so you're ready to go.
Circles officially launches on the 21st of May 2025. Curious to learn more?

Product Updates
âś… The Ethereum Pectra upgrade went live on May 7, 2025, bringing user enhancements, additional scalability, and staking flexibility to Ethereum. Blockscout was ready for Pectra from day 1, specifically supporting EIP-7702 and a new transaction type (tx type 4) that enables wallets to use smart contract code during execution. In addition to supporting the new transaction type and delegated smart contract account info, we've added stats that show daily and cumulative EIP-7702 authorizations.
Are block explorers ready for EIP-7702?@blockscout: ready for type 4 txns and showing the delegated account!@etherscan: great account page with historical delegations, but missing the delegator on the tx page @TenderlyApp not picking up authorization lists on Sepolia yet đź‘€
