New chain launches

Every time a new chain launches, the butterflies 🦋 start fluttering in our Blockscout bellies! What new features and experiences will this chain bring, how will it expand our horizons, what incentives will arrive for early adopters, and what new innovations will come about as a result? Will the chain gain traction and thrive 📈 or slowly wilt on the vine 🍇?
The birth of a chain is an exciting time full of potential and possibilities, and we are grateful to be an integral part of this process for so many chains.
This week we highlight two chains with a long history and strong pedigree which are new to the Blockscout family. The XRPL EVM sidechain brings Ethereum compatibility to the XRPL ecosystem, a public blockchain first founded in 2012. Zilliqa, originally founded in 2018 in Singapore, just released 2.0 with Blockscout as their primary explorer.
Join our latest Merits campaign and explore the exciting world of XRPL! Earn Merits and badges for bridging, interacting, and GM'ing on this new, rapidly expanding EVM sidechain.

- 🌊 XRPL campaign gains momentum
- 🔹 Verifier Alliance (VERA) smart contract verification milestone

XRPL

Ethereum programmability has come to the XRP Ledger ecosystem! There are over 5 million XRP wallet holders, and the new XRPL EVM sidechain greatly extends what these holders can do onchain. XRP is one of the most liquid cryptocurrencies available today, and is used as the gas token for transactions on the new sidechain.

The XRPL EVM sidechain is still in it's infancy, and this is an excellent time to onboard as an early adopter. We're seeing accounts and transactions rising, but there is still an opportunity to be one of the first pioneers to explore this promising ecosystem. Blockscout also just joined XRPL EVM as the first external validator!
Our latest Merits campaign is designed to walk you through basic actions: bridging assets, interacting onchain, and improving wallet safety. It ends on 24 August, so get started today! You can learn more in our dedicated blog post.

VERA

The Verifier Alliance (VERA) reached a significant milestone this week with over 8 million source verified contracts freely available for all!
Verified contract information has been historically siloed and difficult to access across various platforms. With VERA, this data is curated by several ecosystem projects and uploaded to a shared, open database. These large datasets can then be used for compiler testing, identification of vulnerability patterns, model training, data analysis and much more.
VERA is a collaborative project between Blockscout, Routescan, and Sourcify as we collectively gather, standardize and share smart contract verification info. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL DB which is exported daily in Parquet and available for download. More info:

Zilliqa

Blockscout’s custom-built Zilliqa explorer gives users, developers, and validators deep onchain visibility, across both EVM and Scilla contracts, validator activity, and consensus-level data.
We built several new views and features to support Zilliqa 2.0 and the unique functionality it brings to the blockchain ecosystem. This includes:
- A dedicated validators page with staking info
- Enhanced consensus data directly on the blocks page
- Support for unique Bech32 addresses
- Scilla (Zkilliqa's domain-specific language) contract support

Integrations
This week we welcomed new additions to Blockscout including Coinmath, Drops and Stobix.

In the News
Ethereum turned 10 years old this month, and it's amazing to see everything that's happened and hard to imagine all that's to come! In this retrospective article from Blockworks, our head of research Kirill Fedoseev joined builders from Curve, Avail, and more to reflect on the Ethereum journey.

The Blockscout newsletter goes out to all MyAccount community users on supported chains. We welcome your feedback on topics you'd like to see covered or any questions you have. Visit us on X or Discord to get your explorer questions answered or get your project added to our growing network list.
