Blockscout Appoints Eva Zhang, Former Alipay UK CEO, as Chief Executive Officer

Blockscout, the leading open-source block explorer for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) based chains, has appointed Eva Zhang as its CEO, effective August 2025.

Eva was most recently CEO of Alipay UK, where she led the company’s expansion into new markets across Europe. She brings over 15 years of experience across fintech, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, and was recognized in the Women in FinTech Powerlist. Eva spent more than five years at Ant Group, creating new business lines, and served as Director of Business Development at Alibaba Cloud. Earlier roles at HP and Equinix gave her product management experience at the intersection of infrastructure and innovation.

She holds a Dual MBA from London Business School and Columbia Business School, as well as a Master’s in Engineering. A trusted voice in the global fintech and payments community, Eva is a regular speaker at industry-leading events such as Money20/20, London Tech Week, and the European Women in Payments Network.

Her appointment follows Blockscout’s recent seed round led by 1kx, underscoring investor confidence in the company’s strategy and open-source mission.

Under Eva’s leadership, Blockscout is evolving from trusted infrastructure into intelligent, enterprise-grade tooling. Drawing on her track record of scaling fintech and cloud platforms to billions in revenue, she will guide the company’s next phase of growth by expanding partnerships, opening new markets, and embedding AI into both products and operations.
