Activity Booster

We had a great time in Cannes and enjoyed meeting so many projects and builders using Blockscout! In addition to elevated institutional interest, there is also a renewed push towards trustlessness, decentralization, privacy and open-source. We're excited to be at the forefront of this next phase in Ethereum community growth! Now that we're settled back at the "office"... a few updates to share.
- 1️⃣ Summer Merits Activity Pass Booster 🚀
- 2️⃣ Contract interaction and verification
- 3️⃣ Partner updates from TAC, Rootstock, Bloctopus, SpaceId & ZNS
- 4️⃣ Octant Epoch 8 🗓️ Starts Friday July 11

Today’s edition is brought to you by BuidlGuidl, supporting Speedrun Ethereum: a hands-on tutorial series that teaches you how to build on Ethereum by doing.

1️⃣ Activity Pass Booster

The Blockscout Activity Pass (AP) is an exclusive perk that helps pass holders earn additional Merits when using Blockscout. If you have a pass and are logged into a participating Blockscout explorer, you earn Merits for activities like checking transactions, using Swapscout, interacting with contracts, and using Blockscout for other explorer-related activities.
- We've released another small batch of passes, claim your pass now before they're gone!
- Passes cost 50 Merits to claim, one pass per person.
- Passes are for humans 😃 and require a Gitcoin Passport score of 15+.
- Once you own a pass, you start earning Merits immediately for your activities.
- Activity Pass balances update weekly.
We've also boosted Merit earnings this month for AP holders. Here's how many additional Merits you can earn per week based on your activities relative to all AP holders.

2️⃣ Blockscout feature updates

- We're putting the finishing touches on a frontend update expected next week. Look for address related widgets, visual improvements, and a fun new game embedded right into Blockscout!
- We're also preparing our next major backend update 9.0.0 and shooting for an early August release.
In the meantime, we wrote several articles on contract verification and interaction. Contract transparency is an ongoing issue for blockchains. Deployed bytecode is not human readable, and tools like explorers are needed to verify contracts, display relevant contract information, and provide contract interactivity.
Our participation in the Verifier Alliance (over 4M contracts verified and available) is one big step towards a universally-accessible open-source contract database. We're also making strides with our Ethereum Bytecode DB. Slowly but surely, more and more contracts are verified and freely accessible to the community.

3️⃣ Partner updates
🗞️ News this week from our partners

4️⃣ Octant Epoch 8
We're looking forward to Epoch 8 from Octant, their latest public goods funding round focused on supporting key Ethereum infrastructure projects. If you are a GLM holder or know someone who is, please recommend Blockscout for an allocation 🙏 The allocation window begins Friday 11 July and runs until 25 July.
Join us for a livestream on the same day (11 July) where we'll be on with Blobscan, Bundlebear, and Circuitscan, different types of explorers all making Ethereum data easy to find and digest.

The Blockscout newsletter goes out to all MyAccount community users on supported chains. We welcome your feedback on topics you'd like to see covered or any questions you have. Visit us on X or Discord to get your explorer questions answered or get your project added to our growing network list.
